Closed Door Security cyber experts have re-certified VLS to the IASME Cyber Essentials Plus standard after several weeks of assessment work. Retaining this certification demonstrates that VLS continues to maintain robust information security controls to protect its systems and data. This is of critical importance for us and forms an integral part of our Information Security Management System as covered by ISO 27001. We will continue to monitor and improve our IT security with the aim of achieving the standard again next June.
VLS have also retained Certification to ISO 27001 after a Surveillance Audit by the British Assessment Bureau (BAB) in August 2023. The 3 day audit undertaken by BAB was undertaken remotely, with the focus being on the security of VLS’ IT systems and servers. The connectivity to the workshops and the handling/storage of physical documentation was also considered.
VLS Compliance Manager, Ben Anstee, stated “In addition to the assessment of our procedures, policies and documentation, live Teams tours and interviews were used to provide the auditor with the necessary information and evidence.” “BAB raised only one minor non-conformance, associated with the certification logo displayed on the VLS website (resolved on the day), and there were a couple of Opportunities for Improvement (OFI) which is a great result.

Next years’ audit will be a full re-certification to the standard.
