Increased capacity at Pity Me workshop focuses on customer satisfaction

We have installed and launched a brand new ramp for our Pity Me workshop, which we are delighted to say is now in full operational use. The ramp is a 10-metre Y Mech with a 26 ton lift capacity, which will enable us to carry out more service, maintenance and repair work, especially on our specialist HGV fleet vehicles and trailers.

The installation of the new ramp was a key part of our customer service action plan, following on from customer feedback. One of the main priorities included within the plan was to increase workshop capacity by establishing more ramps/pit areas when possible.

VLS Head of Operational Service Delivery, Greg Askell, said “Pity Me workshop will benefit greatly from this significant investment. The ramp has been fully operational for several weeks now and it will allow us to benefit our customers from an increase in workshop capacity. “Additionally, we are in the process of installing shaker plates to our existing pit, which will provide us with improved functionality when carrying out inspections and tests. We expect this work along with refurbishment work to the workshop floor, to be completed in the New Year.”
